2015 Christmas Wishlist

It's October and I have yet to clear my backlogs. Anyhow, at this very moment I am taking a break from playing cheesy Air Supply songs on violin and thinking about how much I would want a new violin, I decided to blog a bit.

None in my wishlist has been realized so far except for the art materials which I wanted a few years ago and which I also put in my wishlist in the office secret Santa gift-giving activity. As if people would go to great lengths to get what I really want. Thinking about what to want for Christmas is very hard for me.

Since lately I have been more focused on music, I would very much want to have music-related stuffs for Christmas. Those and going to theaters, museums, and maybe a long travel to think things through before the year ends.

1. Tickets to concerts and musicals
Next year, Les Misérables will be staged here in Manila. I'm saving up for that but it would be really reaaly cool to have my ticket for free.

2. Movie dates
While I am the type who prefers to go solo when watching movies, it would be nice to have someone to watch Le Petit Prince with. It just so happens that it will be in theaters within my birthday week this year.

3. Food trips
My sisters and close friends know fully well how much I love food and how adventurous I am when it comes to food. Going on an all expense paid good trip is an excellent way to make a girl happy. Whoever said that diamonds are a girl's best friend is a liar. The best way to a girl's heart is through the stomach. Always.

4. Long walks
It's a real pity we do not have that many parks here so this poor hyperactive girl finds it hard to release extra energy. While I do walk on roads, I couldn't enjoy as much because of the pollution. Ugh!
And no, walking in malls is not my cup of tea. I easily get bored seeing all the merchandise on sale which we humans really do not have a need for anyay. [*curses consumerism]

5. The Mind Museum
I've been wanting to go. I did get to visit one time in August but only at the lobby to attend a talk on the origins of the universe. However, I can't seem to afford the ticket.

6. CDs
Of musical giants. For the longest time I have been listening to sax, mostly by Kenny G. It's hard to find violin music so I might as well put that on my list.

7. Musical instruments
I'd like something to add to my winds collection. Probably a harmonica or a clarinet. Or maybe a sax? But saxophones are way too expensive. Sigh!

8. Travels
This girl is itching to travel but is on hiatus for now. I'm saving up for sometjing important so I'm holding my money tight. So it would be lovely to get a free trip again before the year ends. Wanna go to the beach to contemplate about life, love, loss, death, and redemption. Or about the origins of the universe. Or how we can achieve world peace...

9. Books
Ah this girl's best friend. I'd like some intelligent books on history. I like books focused on lesser known heroes and/or intellectuals. Or books on music. Or perhaps books on crazy ideas. Would appreciate books on dating, too. I am seeing the wisdom in a friend's suggestion to read up on dating only now... because that's where I fare poorly.

10. The wisdom to guide me every step of the way, the courage to enable me to do the things I should do, and the strength to carry on doing what I need to do.

Last but not the least, a chance to throw it all to the winds again--- my dreams, my frustrations, my sorrows, my joys. I want to empty myself and start anew.

December Plans and Christmas Wishlist

We're now in December and only a few days to go before 2013 ends. Sound scary since I just turned 25. Suddenly feeling like a lost kid again. People tell me I've been getting addicted to Math. It's not that. Id like to think that Math is that thing that keeps me struggling in this mundane world. Most friends warn me that too much nerdiness will keep the guys away more. To which I retort, let them! I care not for insecure people and I do not subscribe to the idea of dumbing myself down just to get a boyfriend. @.@

Because I've been very busy these past few days, I'd like to somehow create plans for the last few days of 2013.
1. read at least 2 books
2. do more math exercises and read up on difficult topics
3. find more applications of calculus (relate to archaeology, business, life???)
4. clean our bedroom
5. watch some episodes of One Piece
6. start learning Vietnamese phrases and commonly used sentences
7. another out-of-town trip would be VERY NICE

And I just realized I haven't made any wishlist yet so here goes:
1. more kind people, more warmth (no to global warming though!!!)
2. free hotel accommodations
3. more time to learn something new and to do the things I want to do
4. travel buddies who can match my zeal and energy
5. books on history and science (I would love to have books by Richard Feynman...)
6. love, courage, and hope... and strength
7. salary increase

September and An Advanced Wishlist

September--- my second favorite month next to December mainly because it's in this month when we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival (also known as Harvest Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival). Part of the celebration is of course attending parties where we play the dice game and win prizes. In one annual party, we get to win money instead of goodies. In another, there's a raffle draw with money as prize, too. In both parties, I have always been a recipient of scholarship awards, ever since I started going to school until this year when I finished my post-graduate diploma course. It's no wonder that I have always anticipated the month of September because for certain I would be getting money.

And of course, the advent of September means that December is nearing. So here is my wishlist, prepared in advance. While I do not really expect much since I rarely get anything for my birthday or Christmas, I still love listing down the things I want as presents.

1. Roundtrip tickets to any Asian country, preferably China and Japan.

2. a smartphone

3. an ipad

4. tickets to theater performances

5. restaurant gift certificates (I like Mexican, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, and Persian cuisine.)

6. Doc Martens boots (without the heels, please)

7. a gamer's laptop (Asus brand)

I guess that's all for now. Will update in the weeks ahead. :)

Melo's Updated Christmas Wishlist

Dearest Santa and the Reindeer,

Greetings of peace from the Moon Goddess!

May I request that you disregard the wishlist I created some days ago.

Here's an updated list of what I want for Christmas. (Fingers crossed)

1. Faber Castell watercolor pencils (48)

2. Sketch pads

3. coloring pens

4. crayons (64)

5. oil pastels

Because my life is ruled by chaos, the beauty of which inspires me to draw again. Because pictures paint a thousand words. Because pictures can express more than words.

Love,

Miracle

Melo's Christmas Wishlist

Dear Santa and the Reindeer,

Happy end-of-October!

The cold morning breeze is here which makes me sneeze a couple of times upon waking up. October is about to end. Mom is already preparing for things to bring to the cemetery. December is oh-so-near!

And yes, my most dreaded month because I get depressed times ten to the infinite power whenever December's near. Birthday blues and commercialized holidays again. Since two weeks' vacation is part of the package and I am naturally an overly sentimental and romantic being, I tend to spend time listening to rock ballads.

And yes, I seem to have perfected the art of emoing. As I have told a friend, it is an art for me, but more so a hobby.

Tonight I enumerate the things I want for Christmas. Yes I do complain about the holidays being commercialized but give this kid a break. All she wants are:

1. An external hard disk preferably Buffalo.

2. An MP4 player though I will be extremely happy with an MP3 player... preferably at least 2GB.

3. A new Asus gamer's laptop because I plan to go back to being a gamer as soon as I finish my academic requirements

4. WACOM Bamboo to practice creating digital art

5. Books on digital art and animation. Or books in general. (Though really, I should start reading my fiction books which have suddenly numbered to over 200!)

And yes, I do have the above-mentioned stuffs on my wishlist. Then again, there are even more precious things I'd like like:

1. More time to do the things I want like sleeping, drawing, reading, writing, and watching movies

2. parents' permission to join future excavations and explore the world

3. the perfect job: something that will allow me to earn without sacrificing my hobbies and of course, my career as an archaeologist.

4. real peace, though I know this is next to impossible

5. last and the most important: the COURAGE to do the things I have to do, and the STRENGTH to continue doing what I'm supposed to do.

So there, I guess the second group of wishes are more important. :)

Love lots,

Miracle
